"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it's the only thing that ever has."

The Build Our Bridge campaign is in response to the failure of the NSW State Government to honour its promise that should the Prospect Highway be built through the Lower Prospect Canal Reserve that a bridge would be built across the highway to ensure the ongoing safety of the shared path (cycleway/walkway).

Until the destruction of a section of the cycleway (see our photos) the Canal Reserve offered one of the safest cycleways in Sydney, as it did not have any road crossings for it’s 7.7kms length.

This all changed in 2008 when a section was bulldozed to make way for the Prospect Highway and the proposed Liverpool to Blacktown Transitway.

To understand how the destruction of the canal affects the safety of your children, and the utility of the cycleway, click the background link below which will provide you with a wealth of documentation and photos detailing how the canal cycleway was allowed to be destroyed and how a promised bridge was stolen.

The latest news regarding the ongoing community campaign to make the Canal Reserve safe again will now be posted to our Facebook page instead of this website.

CRAG is looking for everyone who loves using the Lower Prospect Canal Reserve to become “Fan” of our Facebook page.

There is a clear message that needs to be repeated over and over to
the RMS(RTA) and the NSW State Government, and that message is:
